Arlene Amato, DVM
Dr. Arlene Amato grew up in Nashua New Hampshire and moved to Colorado in 1984 to attend the United States Air Force Academy. She left the program in two years after deciding to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Her undergraduate degree was completed at UCCS where she graduated with a Masters of Arts in Biology with a minor in Psychology. She attended Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences graduating in 1999. She has been the owner/ practitioner at Our Family Vet since 2007.
Dr. Amato enjoys gardening and has several raised vegetable garden beds at home. She also enjoys trail biking with her family in the summer and taking vacations to Myrtle Beach, S.C. on an annual basis. Other relaxation is found in reading, artwork, and cooking. Several of Dr. Amato’s personal works of art are on display in the hospital. At home, her furry children consist of dogs, cats, birds, and a rabbit. The small fuzzies has a special place in her heart and she enjoys working with them regardless of the fact that medical diagnosis and treatment of such small creatures is often very difficult.
Lindsay, Assistant Manager/ Veterinary Technician
Lindsay is a rare Colorado Native! She was born and raised right here in Colorado Springs. She is a proud dog mama to Kaliopie “Kali” a husky/golden retriever mix and Robin a blue heeler/border collie mix. Lindsay graduated from Pima Medical Institute Veterinary Technician program in 2010 with her Associates of Applied Sciences degree. She joined our team shortly before completing her externship. Lindsay has worked with a variety of different animals; she has also been around animals her entire life. In her free time, you might find Lindsay out in the mountains enjoying this beautiful state we live in either hiking with her pups, snowboarding during the winter, or hanging out by a river. She also enjoys staying home and watching a good movie like anything Marvel or putting together a puzzle. Lindsay loves being in the veterinary field and having such a rewarding career, especially working with amazing people and their pets!
Casie, Certified Veterinary Technician
Casie joined us as an assistant two years ago. She attended Pima Medical Institute’s Veterinary Technician Program, graduated with an Associates of Applied Sciences Degree, and is now back with us as a Certified Veterinary Technician. Before working with animals, Casie was an EMT and a Medic. She spent 12 years in the United States Army and deployed to Iraq three times. She now calls Colorado Spring her forever home with her husband John and plenty of fur children. She has a golden retriever named Bo, a shepherd mix named Leia, three cats: Porter, Gracie, and Tilley, and she has six chickens. On her days off, she enjoys finding new places to hike, camping, gardening, woodworking, and chicken farming. Casie enjoys being in the veterinary medicine field because it enables her to give back to the animals as they have given her so much love and joy throughout her life.
